I’ve long been an avid fan and early adopter of Substack, even launching a book review newsletter years ago to expand on my ‘Recent Reads’ Instagram Story highlight. As Substack evolves and my interest in industry trends deepens, I’m excited to embark on a new venture: a Substack newsletter dedicated to the Influencer and Creator economy. My insights on fashion, beauty, and the influencer landscape have mostly stayed confined to group chats and dinner conversations, so I’m thrilled to have a platform where I can freely share and expand on these ideas. My entry into the influencer/creator industry was a serendipitous connection through a friend of a friend, and I’ve been fortunate to grow within this dynamic, emerging field. In this newsletter, you can expect to find interviews with influencer marketers, trends from my corner of the internet, and insights into brand-influencer partnerships. I hope this becomes a vibrant space that fosters curiosity and meaningful conversation.

About Me

I’m Clare Moore McDaniel. I’ve worked in the influencer + creator industry for 7+ years, starting as an intern at Outdoor Voices on their PR team, dabbling in their initial seeding efforts. Since then I’ve worked brand side at Flamingo, creating their community + influencer strategy, the editorial side at Who What Wear, working with luxury and retail fashion brands, and at Fohr, an influencer marketing agency, where I’ve learned from + worked with the greatest people in the industry. In 2025, I decided to go out on my own to consult with brands on their influencer + community strategies.

Along with my professional experience, I studied apparel design in college and spend my free time staying up to date with fashion trends and reading about fashion businesses and history.
