Last week I mentioned that Serena Kerrigan announced both a book and a TV show. Another example of an influencer moving beyond digital content creation and into more traditional entertainment and media formats. This week, we saw two more influencers, Tinx and Meredith Hayden (of Wishbone Kitchen), celebrate their book launches on the exact same day, May 6. While the subject matter differs (romance novel v. cookbook), their promotional rollouts looked similar: coordinated media appearances, launch parties, branded merchandise, and social media campaigns that mimicked the kind of press tours usually reserved for celebrities or established authors.
We’re witnessing a shift in how media and publishing industries view influencers not just as marketing partners, but as marketable talents in their own right. Influencers today are not only commanding large audiences but also demonstrating the ability to build strong personal brands that translate across mediums. The definition of celebrity and influencer is changing and ultimately becoming more blurred and blended.
They even had their makeup done by influencer & makeup artist Kelli Anne Sewell:
Both books are in my cart for summer reading + cooking!!
A few years ago, I kept seeing Tory Burch’s mirrored dress in yellow on some of my favorite fashion influencers. This week I’ve seen the dress all over Instagram in a new pink/magenta color. It’s a dream spring wedding guest dress but sadly already sold out!
To celebrate Mother’s Day, Perelel Health x Artifact Uprising co-hosted a lunch with influencer, Cameron Rogers. Influencers in attendance: Megan O’Neill, Neeti Narula, Tara Moni, Maria Roberts, Jennie Monness, Alyssa Brieloff, Katie Sands, and Lia Bartha.
Speaking of Mother’s Day, I love J. Crew’s Mother’s Day collab with !
Vestiaire Collective hosted an intimate dinner with influencers in NYC. To keep the evening interactive and bring their social series to life, they engaged guests with a game of 'Real or Fake?
I really don’t think we needed another celebrity skincare brand, but if I’d been invited, I definitely would have gone to Paris Hilton’s skincare launch party. Martha Stewart was there, Paris DJ’d, and it looked like a throwback to peak early-2010s energy. I would like to know who is really using Parívie in their routine….
Caudalie hosted a brand trip to Bordeaux with their US ambassadors. I’ve loved watching
’s full circle content from being a coordinator right of college to now being a paid ambassador for the brand! Other influencers on the trip: Aditya Madiraju, Eni Popoola, and Sasha Mei.Other things I saw this week: The discourse on Bill Belichick and his influencer gf, Jordan Hudson after the CBS morning interview - two different but equally entertaining takes: The Sports Gossip Show & Giggly Squad, Coco Schiffer styled & shot a full collection with WAYF sold exclusively at Nordstrom, and Creed Fragrances hosted a cake decorating class for Mother’s Day with Lucie.
Things I’ve been influenced by this week: I attended an EV Salon event with Alex Mill ahead of their summer collection launch and was influenced to buy this red linen top and skirt set! With summer on my mind, I’m also going to dip into the jelly shoe trend. Eyeing the following pairs: Ancient Greek Sandals, Loeffler Randall, Vince (saw IRL twice this weekend, so think it’s a sign), and Matisse.
Best red set!
